Description

February 6, 1990: Cabinet Minister Paul Ngei kicks up a row with the Attorney-General, Mr. Justice Mathew Guy Muli, demanding his resignation for allegedly misusing his office. But Mr. Justice Muli immediately shrugged off Mr. Ngei’s charges and dismissed him as a daydreamer. At a press conference in his Nairobi office, Mr. Ngei, the Minister for Employment and Manpower Development, vowed to sue the AG accusing him of having told a pack of lies about him in the High Court. At the same time, Mr. Ngei blamed the AG for the court summons over an alleged debt and a bankruptcy case amounting to nearly Sh33 million. But a furious Attorney General, who talked to the Nation on phone from his residence, retorted: “You tell him he is daydreaming and does not know what he is talking about.
